Confession caught on tape!
If you are anything like me, you’ve had your fair share of “moments of weakness”. Maybe your moment under the grip of kryptonite is…calling that ex-boyfriend that you know is absolutely no good for you, but you’re feeling extra lonely so what harm could it really be? Maybe your weak moment looks more like walking into the pantry only to have found yourself inhaling an entire box of cookies before you know what hits you. Either one of these scenarios usually end in the exact same way… Guilt and regret. The bad news is that there will always be a never-ending supply of moments waiting to catch us in a vulnerable position, but the great news is that we ALWAYS have the choice in the next second to change the course and move in a healthier direction. I like to call those opportunities right after we fall (from a moment of kryptonite) … The get back on the horse moments.
Remember that to learn a new behavior, hobby, or skill it takes practice and… yes, even mistakes. Mistakes and moments of weakness can both be great life lessons… For example, after eating really clean and healthy for as little as a week, you then decide to whoop it up and have a pizza, beer, and chocolate cake fest… Within moments of the pig-out, your body is going to scream at you by giving you a massive belly ache and guilt trip hangover. By having this moment of “fun or weakness”, you were able to actually feel the difference in how your body feels fueled with healthy foods vs. junk foods. We obviously know when we eat well that our mind, body, and spirit feel better but sometimes we forget and need a reminder as to why we are choosing the healthier path in the first place. Ex-boyfriend/booty call experiences are no different…they almost ALWAYS end in a next morning feeling of…What the hell was I thinking???? But by experiencing this, we now know yet again…for sure this time…why we aren’t in that relationship anymore.

So whats my point? In this week’s video, I am sharing my dessert kryptonite moment… I pride myself in being Plant-perfect (ok, not perfect, but pretty damn close) and I desire to lead by example and share with you what living a vibrant, healthy life looks and feels like… BUT, in full disclosure mode… I still have moments of weakness… Does this make me less credible as a health and lifestyle coach? Nope… It just makes me more real… I am human just like the rest of the world.
The only diffence is that I have learned to:
A. Take off the blinders
B. I get real with why I have had the “weak moments” in the first place
C. Tell the truth… Striving to be perfect will squash your process towards truly living a happy, healthy, and authentic life.

In the comment section below, I would love to hear a moment of weakness for you. When did it strike? Did you see it coming? Did you learn a lesson from the moment that has since served you?
Please share the love and this post with all of your family and friends. And please remember… When you fall…get back up, dust yourself off and climb back onto that big, beautiful stallion and charge forward my friend!
Beautiful healthy hugs,
Vanessa

I love almond butter, st. Danfour jelly
and mary’s crackers.
I have been known to eat a box of mary’s crackers in a day…one cracker at a time!
I have peanut butter & oil-free cracker’s (melba toast).
now, I will “gorge” on a whole cantaloupe. My other splurge is homemade oat/almond butter/agave nectar raw cookies.
Late nights are VERY hard, especially since I was bulimic for 17 years.
Thanks for you post!!
Isn’t interesting how we often we use food to feel an emotional need? I love anything with peanut butter too!
