Who doesn’t love a good BBQ?
Are you tired of serving up the same old meat and potatoes to your family? Why not try one of our family’s absolute favorite meals… BBQ Baked Portobello Mushrooms! I generally serve them with baked sweet potato fries and a beautiful mixed green salad.
Enjoy my quick video recipe for creating a lightning fast meal that even meat-lovers will enjoy.
The cleanest bottlle of BBQ sauce that I have found is Organicville brand.

A few of my favorite facts about the meaty portobello:
1. Portobello, pronounced [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][por-toh-BEHL-loh]. The portobello, also called portabella, is really just a brown crimini mushroom in disguise.
2. The portobello mushroom contains zero grams of fat. (Now thats something to cheer about!)
3. You can enjoy portobello mushrooms raw, cooked as a side dish or chopped up into your favorite salad.
4. The portobello mushroom is a great meat alternative. You can easily replace a beef patty with a portobello mushroom on a whole wheat bun — a far less caloric option than the beef; a 3 oz. broiled beef patty contains 240 calories and a whopping 16 g of artery clogging fat.
5. VITAMINS AND MINERALS- Portobello mushrooms provide a range of B-vitamins. Portobellos also serve as a great source of copper, selenium, potassium and phosphorus.
6. ANTIOXIDANTS- Enjoy portobello mushrooms and you’re taking in a rich source of antioxidants, antioxidants protect your cells from free-radical damage. The mighty portobello mushroom has more free-radical-cancer fighting power than green beans and carrots.
Cooking Tip-
The longer you cook the portobello, the meatier (firmer textured) the mushroom gets.
I would love to hear your favorite ways that you prepare mushrooms…
