Ever wondered how to carve a jicama… let alone eat it?
There are so many delicious exotic fruits and vegetables that you can now find at your local farmers market and grocery. The challenge is actually putting some of these more unique plants into your cart to take home and enjoy. One of the first challenges that people often face is not having a clue how to chop/carve up said fruit or vegetable. And the second challenge is how to prepare it. With those two challenges alone, we often decide to leave the interesting piece of produce at the grocery store and instead choose to pick the same old fruit and veg variety that we know and trust. HOW BORING!!! Today I am going to show you the simple way to carve the delicious jicama… or as we like to call it around our house, the Mexican potato. This delicious fruit tastes like a cross between an apple and a potato and adds a beautiful crunch to your favorite salads or as a tasty treat with fresh-squeezed lime.
Here is a jicama recipe to get you started on growing your own jicama love story.
