Easy Marinara Sauce
Easy Marinara Sauce |
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 TBS water
- 1 15-oz. can crushed tomatoes****
- 1 15-oz. can tomato sauce****
- fresh basil, to taste
- fresh oregano, to taste
- fresh thyme, to taste (necessary)
- Combine onion & garlic in a pan big enough to hold the entire sauce on medium-high heat.
- Add 2 TBS water and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes.
- Pour over desired dish.
- Enjoy!
- ****Feel free to use fresh tomatoes instead of canned, but be aware that unless the tomatoes are in season and truly ripe, you may end up with an almost flavorless sauce.
