Meatless Monday – Onion Crackers
Crunch Time, Fun Time!
Keep the crunch alive! Here’s a tasty trifecta of healthy seeds that will deliver a variety of high-powered nutrients in a crunchy snack.
The Onion Cracker offers a unique flavor that the whole family will love! It is an amazing snack that creates a different kind of sensation on the taste buds. The perfect snack or appetizer any day of the week.
Onion Crackers
Ingredients:
6 lbs. yellow, white or sweet onions, sliced
2 cups sesame seeds, soaked for 8-12 hours
2 cups sunflower seeds, soaked for 8-12 hours
3 cups flax seeds, soaked for 8-12 hours
6 sun-dried tomatoes, soaked along with the seeds
2 cups nutritional yeast
½ tablespoon sea salt
4 table spoon fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped
*** Soaked necessary items over night. Drain seeds.
Instructions:
- In a large mixing blow, thoroughly mix all the ingredients by hand.
- Spread the mixture very thinly on a dehydrator tray lined with a Silpat. Dehydrate at 118 degrees 7 to 9 hours.
- Flip the bread over, remove the non-stick sheet and continue dehydrating for 5 to 6 hours, or until the cracker is completely dry.*
*The total time of dehydration required depends on the humidity of your location.
