Meatless Monday – Chocolate Chia Bites
Oh what a sweet labor of love!
Some say chocolates are made of hugs and kisses. Others say chocolates are made in heaven. I say, chocolates are my definite happy thought! So buckle up and let me take you for a trip down the plant-based sweetness avenue!
Today is Labor Day and it is time to celebrate with a bang of healthy and yummy treats from my Plantfire kitchen! We all have cravings of sweetness. This drug we call “chocolate”- that a bite or two can cure any bad day in no time! The Chocolate Chia Bites recipe has the twist of healthy-licious goodness because NO SUGAR is required to make this bite-sized perfection come to life! This chocolate is a sort of sweet healing sensation because of the health benefits brought about by all the rockstar ingredients, starting with the superfood chia seeds! Chia seeds add nutritional punch and crunch with all the energy-boosting properties they give! Unstoppable health benefits are coming your way via another rockstar ingredient – my favorite DATES!
The Chocolate Chia Bites recipe is super easy, can be whipped together in a matter of minutes and is packed with goodness that can brighten any dull party! So let’s get this chocolate chia ball party rollin!
Chocolate Chia Bites
Ingredients:
½ cup almonds
¼ cup pecans
¼ cup pumpkin seeds
¼ cup medjool dates, pitted
¼ cup raisins
1-tablespoon maple syrup
2-tablespoon chia seeds
2-tablespoon cacao powder
dash of sea salt
Instructions:
1. Put all ingredients together in a food processor and blend until a crumbly texture is achieved, approximately 45 seconds.
2. Roll mixture into bite-sized balls.
3. Serve and enjoy!
