The plant based lifestyle is one of such amazing benefits! Every beautiful ingredient is power packed with nutrients, vitamins and benefits. To eat this diet is to be beautiful on the inside and out. I’d like to share some specific advantages the mango has to offer..
Health Benefits of the Mango: Mango, the king of fruits, belongs to the family Anacardiaceae. Various varieties of mango grow abundantly in Burma, Africa, Malaysia, India, Java and Sumatra. It is a nutrient packed fruit, extremely rich in minerals, antioxidant vitamins, and enzymes. Did you know that the mango is a symbol of love in India? A basket of mangos is considered a gesture of friendship. There’s also a legend that says Buddha meditated under the cool shade of a mango tree!
Prevents Cancer – Research has shown antioxidant compounds in mango fruit have been found to protect against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate cancers.
Lowers Cholesterol – The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein (the bad stuff!)
Clears the Skin – Mangos can be used both internally and externally for the skin. Mangos clear clogged pores and eliminate pimples.
Helps Eye Health – One cup of sliced mangoes supplies 25 percent of the needed daily value of vitamin A, which promotes good eyesight and prevents night blindness and dry eyes.
Alkalizes the Whole Body – The tartaric acid, malic acid, and a trace of citric acid found in the fruit help to maintain the alkali reserve of the body.
