May I present this brilliant and refreshing take on a conventional hummus…. the Kidney Bean Lime Hummus is the easiest and quickest preparation of a plant-based treat that is going to rock your taste buds and create a wonderful experience that no other power-packed food can deliver!

It’s not a secret that I’m in love with hummus, and so it only makes sense that I create one, which uses kidney beans instead of the traditional chickpeas to give it a rich, bold flavor. These kidney shaped beans absorb the flavors of the spices, especially chili, and seasoning with which they are combined. Lime juice gives this creation a tangy element while the tahini adds a nutty tone and a creamy texture. Serve with carrot or any veggie stick you have in your fridge and you can make your tummy so happy!

This hummus is so nutritious that it boasts of so many amazing health benefits for our mind and body. Let me start with why kidney beans can be a superb mainstay in our diet………

So let us begin our healthy hummus adventure!

Kidney Bean Lime Hummus

Ingredients:

2 15-oz can of kidney beans, rinsed and drained

1 tablespoon tahini

2 tablespoons lime juice

½ teaspoon chili powder

¼ teaspoon ground cumin

1 clove of garlic

sea salt to taste

 

Instructions:

  1. Put all the ingredients together in the blender adding water until your desired consistency is achieved.
  2. Serve and enjoy!
